"I met Sarah, The Beauty Tutor, at a time where I was seriously stumped about how to stop feeling 36 and frumpy.

My style has been described as "Conservative with a twist of Funky" Because I am a business woman in a creative area - I can certainly get away with wearing some unique items of clothing and accessories - but also need to maintain a clean and professional image too! While I had some of those elements sussed out - I was somehow unable to really feel comfortable and fashionable in the clothes in my wardrobe and was in need of some professional, unbiased advice and assistance.

I had even taken trips to Vietnam to have clothes made - but even those clothes didn't seem to give me the confidence you feel when you know you look well put together. Some things just didn't fit well, weren't cut quite right or just generally looked too boring. I didn't need a complete overhaul - just some guidance and tweaking!

I had NO problems with Sarah detoxing my wardrobe. Infact it was very cleansing - a gentle nudge was all that was needed to really surrender some of those items that just DIDN'T work anymore - or NEVER worked in the first place! Knowing that everything I was surrendering would go toward helping someone else was a great way to not feel bad about clearing out - and of course - knowing that Sarah would soon go shopping with me to fill the gaps was very exciting.

Making a shopping list and budget was an excellent idea - it gave us focus for our shopping expedition. I really HATE shopping for clothes (still!) and I find it very frustrating to visualise what to choose on the rack or display to try on let alone buy! There are so many changing styles and fashion quirks each season that put me off buying up big for fear of getting sucked into a TREND and having to discard the items later. Knowing where to shop for a look that suites my age was also a difficulty - as it's so easy to find SHORT/ TIGHT or PLUNGING - not good if those requirements don't suit!

Sarah was then sure to choose items that were classic and well cut to last me a few seasons. I would NEVER ordinarily entereinto the shops Sarah took me to - so it was great to discover that it is THOSE SHOPS that I should be revisiting - and not the outlet stores stocking illfitting, often poor quality end of season clearances that are there for a REASON!

With Sarah fending off the sales assistants and ensuring that the I tried on items that she selected for me in sizes and styles that were most likely to suit, I purchased most things on my list and was under budget! Shopping was fast, efficient and not at all frustrating! It was FUN! The items I didn't find - I was able to go hunting for myself with confidence. The clothes I have are QUALITY - and they do make the difference to my overall appearance and my confidence. I am also out of the cycle of buying cheap and poor quality clothes as I now know that it can bring down a whole outfit!

Since I was STYLED by The Beauty Tutor - I have received endless compliments on my appearance both in a business setting and socially. I feel good and I feel confident - and I have been told that that really comes through!

Compliments are on new individual clothing items as well as the combinations of clothing - and mixing and matching some of my older clothes to my new ones. It didn't take a complete overhaul - just a good, focused TWEAKING and it was a very worthwhile investment to make - because I feel so good!

"One day I was flicking through a community newspaper and happened upon Sarah's advertisement. "Ooooh", I thought, "this could be the answer". So I took a deep breath, calmed the nerves and emailed Sarah. Almost straight away I received a response and we arranged a time to meet.

The initial meeting was fabulous. We discussed what I wanted to get out of the sessions, what kind of functions I attended ie: races, pubs, theatre etc, what my financial limit was and from this the idea of my new wardrobe was born. First session: Sarah came to my house and she went through my wardrobe. Almost two thirds of my wardrobe were deemed outdated, unsuitable for my body type or just plain yucky. Was I upset by this?

Actually no, it was an incredibly cathartic experience. Second session:

We then arranged to meet for a day to go shopping. Sarah had a devised a plan of items that I need to compliment my existing wardrobe for areas in my life such as work, home, social and formal functions. This was the template from which to begin our day of shopping. It was so much fun. I tried on so many clothes and shoes that I would never, ever have looked at trying before. In the end though I ended up with an entirely new wardrobe but one that still complimented the clothes I had left over from the original cleanout. Third session: Sarah then came back and took photos of all the clothes in different combinations and compiled a booklet so that I had something to refer too. This book has been my bible.

Throughout this whole process Sarah was fabulous. At no stage did I feel intimidated or that I had to get rid of clothes, or that I had to buy clothes in fact it was the very opposite. She was very engaging, encouraging and most of all she knows her stuff.

The outcome: I am now more aware of what I should and shouldn't buy for my body type and lifestyle. I just wish that I could take Sarah with my every time I shopped!!

Oh! I almost forgot to mention that I was also part of the make up session that Sarah provides. What an eye opener that was! Once my face was made up by (Sarah, I can't remember her name, you may want to add it in here) I couldn't stop staring at it ... I couldn't believe it was me. I learnt techniques about applying makeup, hiding imperfections and also type of make up and colours suited me. Guess what? The next day I was out at the shops buying the make up. Both these sessions were a confidence boost for me. It was all about me ... and as selfish as that may seem, what a nice treat it is to spoil yourself in such a way. I would recommend it for anyone that has ever had a hankering to change their "look" but was unsure of how to go about it."

I noticed Sarah’s name and website address in Who magazine one day and having long wished for a Trinny and Susannah style rescue for my wardrobe decided to send her an email. We met for a coffee and impressed by Sarah’s friendly stylishness I chose the reveal package and boy am I glad I did. First Sarah came to my apartment and detoxed my wardrobe. We got rid of everything that didn’t suit me, fit me or was the wrong colour and she photographed everything that was left. I really enjoyed the process and was excited by the prospect of upcoming shopping trip to fill in the gaps she identified – which were that I had no basics!!! No wonder my wardrobe wasn’t working.
