Marnie Skillings; they had the most fantastic female drummer as the music!....let me tell you about the clothes though. There was only a smidge of black!
The dresses are very floaty and feminine, perfect for a lot summers day. The high waisted white see-through jumpsuit is not a winner. Long gypsy style skirts are great and more bat wing sleeves.
Fabric - Silk
Colours - White, great, fleshy pink, powder blue, hot pink ( love it!) and a little black.
Kate Sylvester; another great NZ designer. The colours reminded me of fruit tingles. Cute tops and wearable (not too high waisted) shorts. I love the cerise blue a few of the designers are using for summer. Great mens clothes too.
Fabric - silk and cotton
Colours - yellow, cerise blue, beige, mint green, coral and yes, black.

Zimmerman; first the good...great colour! What a relief from black. Black for summer is not very cool (pardon the pun). Zimmerman really do cater for a very slim woman (girl?)and this is evident with leggings, tulip dresses and baggy hips on trousers. I am also not keen on the 'granny floral' print.
Fabric - silk again
Colours - Grey, white, orange (uh), pink and blue
Zambesi what I do love is to see a New Zealand brand doing well, and its certainly got some cool styles. The styling was very busy so it was hard to see the individual pieces. To be honest, its a young brand and would look great on someone 18-25. It seemed a lot more Autumn Winter with a hint a Spring Summer only.
Fabric - a bit of silk and wool.
Colours - Black and Grey and I HAD to add in a white photo!

Borne Naked is a very cool invention for woman who change their handbags and forget to swap everything over. There is nothing worse than forgetting your lip gloss for the day! This is designed by a fantastic woman named Amanda George for woman, because some things men just can't create!
The inserts range from $24.95 - $29.95 and are made from PVC. As Amanda says, she know quite a lot about PVC, more than most people should.
You can check it out here at the Borne Naked website or at Rosemont Australian Fashion Week in The Source section.

Ginger and Smart great kaftans with bat wings for the beach in summer. Not so great trousers that are high waisted elastic waisted and baggy. Avoid if you have big hips or bottoms. LOTS of leggings and zippers.
Fabrics; silk
Colours; black, lime green, hot pink and yellow.
Camilla and Marc very soft feminine dresses and colours. The stripes are great and at least they are vertical, the stripes are very bold compared to the rest of the easy to wear range.
Fabrics; silk
Colours; white, pale blue, black and pale pink.
Wayne Cooper has stuck with what he knows best, gorgeous silk dresses for summer. Perfect for the races, weddings or just a fun party flock. He has also created an amazing range of mens clothes. Thank goodness someone is looking after our men!
Fabrics; silk (seeing a pattern yet?)
Colours; white, bright blue, black, grey and hot pink.

I was very excited walking down to Circular Quay this morning! I joined the throngs of Fashionistas and grabbed my pass for the weeks event. As well as the shows, there is a great deal of people watching to do and everyone is looking FABULOUS.
The Melbournites will be happy to know that at least 90% of the Fashionistas attending were wearing black!
You do spend A LOT of time lining up for each show with each one running 30-50 minutes late. I know its fashionable, but how can the shows on day one be running so late? I thought I'd add a photo of the line so you can see how thrilled everyone looks! LOVE IT!
more to follow soon....

Country Road changed their brand philosophy a few seasons ago to target a younger market. As a result, they left quite a few customers high and dry.
Realising the potential for a brand catering to the over-40's, they have created a new brand called Trenery.
They are due to launch firstly in Woolworths South Africa and then in Australia in September 2009.
I will keep you updated with an official launch date and the range later in the year.
Strange name? Trennery Crescent in Collingwood Melbourne was one of the first Country Road office sites.
